Applicant privacy notice

This notice explains how Orbint GmbH processes your personal data when you apply for a position.

2. Data we process

The data you provide in the application form or by e-mail: name, contact details, CV, cover letter, certificates, earliest start date, salary expectation, profile links, and any further information contained in your documents, as well as the date and time of your application and of your consent to this notice.

3. Purpose and legal basis

We process your data exclusively to carry out the application procedure and to decide on establishing an employment relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, Section 26 BDSG). After the procedure has ended we keep the data to defend against possible legal claims, e.g. under the General Equal Treatment Act (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you voluntarily share special categories of data (e.g. a disability), we process them on the basis of Art. 9(2)(b) GDPR.

4. Recipients

Within Orbint, only the people involved in the hiring decision have access. Our HR system is operated on our own server hosted in Germany; the hosting provider processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). We do not transfer your data to third countries.

5. Storage period

If we cannot offer you a position, your data is deleted six months after the end of the application procedure, unless you have agreed to a longer storage for future vacancies. If you are hired, your data becomes part of your personnel file.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You may withdraw your application at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach.

7. Obligation to provide data

Providing your data is neither legally nor contractually required. Without it, however, we cannot consider your application. There is no automated decision-making.
